What is a Monday even?

TLDR: Humbling of my egotistical self, a week-by-week recap of the course so far, and although a little overwhelmed, a lot of love sharing and a special #shoutout to my exitbuddy!

It's Monday... so... posting day.

Honestly, my ego was so big at the beginning of this semester, I thought I was going to SLAY the 3-blog-posts-assignment, with like... superb content (and a podcast) that was going to catapult me into my future, dream career of being a well-established blogger in the ISD industry... but here we are, more than halfway through the semester and I'm running on fumes... producing very-sub-par posts, that I am admittingly unproud of. I'd like to think that I am learning something about web 2.0 and eme6414 throughout all of this though... and that is, systems help, and so does planning ahead (in case of life-disturbances), that 'we can't do it all' (as Doc said multiple times, but I refused to believe it), that the internet is infinite and intangible.

The past few weeks have been really difficult due to long-covid fatigue. I require a nap every 3 hours for about 3 hours. And when I'm not napping, I'm functioning with half the brain power I usually am.

This post is going to be a little long, for my own reflective practice.

Weeks 1-7 topical reflections based on readings.

  1. Defining the Field
    1. Produsage interactivity with content and components of social media
  2. Digital Natives-Produsage
    1. Generational differences between technology users
  3. Communities-PLN
    1. Informal learning and personal learning networks
  4. Crowdsourcing Expertise
    1. Expertise in CoPs online communities, gathering information informally
  5. Intellectual Property, Privacy, Ethics
    1. Copyright rules, attributions, and all kinds of respectful ethics with online content
  6. Networked Knowledge Activities NKA
    1. Six ways of information transfer: collect, curate, negotiate, broker, create, and share. (I visited The Weave to remember that last one.) but not necessarily in that order.
  7. Design for Network Knowledge Activities

Okay, being honest here, I was entirely behind on last week's readings... but then I reached out to MYurewitch (my designated 'exit buddy'--her brilliant reference, not mine) about feeling a little overwhelmed and she gave me LOTS of great study suggestions. Two of which, focus on a single reading to review, and check out the class blogs... which, I had been doing the latter prior to last week... but I was hyper-focused on my late submission Community Norms assignment, which I am completely and utterly inspired by. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE ONLINE COMMUNITIES. But this isn't new knowledge to me. I've been a techno-rat ever since I got my first screenname on ICQ. I love typing if you can't tell.
to me, the sound of a keyboard is like musical notes.
I need to redesign my plan for Monday posts, they aren't at all about 'setting a schedule' for the week.

Retrospective Readings

Sidenote: Been thinking about one of the first readings we read in this course, about the couple who went through a medical dilemma and reached out to their network of friends and were provided with insightful information about recovery...

Reflecting on Dennen's Networked knowledge Activities and the experience that we are developing in this course... through different social media platforms, some strategies of imparting knowledge to an audience are more prone to brokerage vs. creation vs. curation... it's more simply addressable in action for the assignment that I have coming up about tracking data based on shares, I've provided a curation of shares in various creations and brokerages, I am excited for the data to build over this week to decipher where the majority of 'clicks' and webpage visits are... whether some of the mini-reminders, (perhaps even infographics), that I've shared on my previous post, the pinterest board. Please check it out, so I can track your data!

I also really enjoyed Kalei's reflection post, Goals on the readings this week.
